The Stained Glass Moon Phase Suncatcher with Star features the waxing crescent moon and is handcrafted of iridescent blue & iridescent white glass.
The waxing crescent moon happens after a new moon when the moon is between 0.1% and 49.9% illuminated. So we are seeing more than less of the moon illuminated and more than half in shadow.
The Waxing Crescent Moon Phase with Star is handcrafted using the copper foil (Tiffany) method. Each piece of glass is individually cut and ground to size, and the edges are dressed. The edges of each piece are wrapped in copper foil, which is then burnished. The glass pieces are soldered together, and the hangers and chain are affixed. After inspection and cleaning a copper patina is applied, and then polished. As the final step, each phase is thoroughly cleaned and waxed.

The Moon measures 9″ (from hanger to star) x 4″wide
