The super cool Stained Glass Alien Spaceship window was inspired by a sketch my son drew on a napkin. A chance to have your very own alien encounter, and a fun piece for that lover of the unique!
The color chosen for the sky is a stark contrast to the iridescent and mirrored glass used in the spaceship and the orange and yellow glass used in the alien rays shooting down to earth.
Each of the 17 pieces of glass used is individually cut and ground to size, and the edges are dressed. The edges of each piece are wrapped in copper foil, which is then burnished. The glass pieces are soldered together, the zinc frame is affixed, and the hanger is affixed. Finally, the window portals are added to the spaceship. After inspection and cleaning a patina is applied, and then polished. As the final step, each window is thoroughly cleaned and waxed.
The Five Moon Phases Stained Glass Window features the waxing crescent, waxing gibbous, full, waning gibbous, and waning crescent phases of the moon, and is available in several color variations: iridescent black & iridescent white glass; iridescent bronze & iridescent amber glass; and slate blue and white streaky & iridescent white glass.
The Majestic Mountain Stained Glass Window was inspired by the beautiful snow-capped mountain ranges and canyons found in Utah, but it seems to remind folks of their favorite mountain range – no matter where that is. You can almost smell the pines!
